Founded in 1986 by the company president Joe LaBarbera, Mid-State began as an independent Life and Health insurance agency.
Operating out of his parent's home, Joe was able to grow the company by meeting the needs of individuals and small businesses in the area. In just one year, Mid-State opened its first office in Shorewood, Wisconsin. By 1989, the agency added Property and Casualty insurance and became a full-service multi-line agency. Mid-State relocated its offices to Mequon, Wisconsin in 1995.
The once small homegrown agency now represents nearly one hundred insurance companies and over three thousand clients. Mid-State has been in business for over 35 years and continues to provide the same attentive, individualized service as they have from day one.
