About the Role

The Commercial Lines Rater is a full time in office position that works closely with Account Executives and Account Managers to strategize new and renewal accounts, quote, and place business.


The available position is a great opportunity for a College Grad looking to jump start a career, or even the experienced Insurance Professional who is looking for more of an administrative role.


Responsibilities

The Commercial Lines Rater position consists of supporting the Account Manager and Account Executive by taking care of the administrative details including, rating, preparing detailed Insurance Proposals, and more. Through collaborating with the Account Managers, Account Executives and Company contacts, the Commercial Rater will be part of a cohesive team to reach the common goal of efficiency as well as client and carrier satisfaction.


The Commercial Lines Rater will keep the agency management system current by updating policy information in ACORD forms, record daily activity; attach documents and documenting all communication in the client file in order to facilitate shared client information in a clear and concise manner to your team members. Develop a knowledge of underwriting guidelines for multiple carriers, build and maintain positive relationships with Carrier Underwriters and Representatives, and keep up with underwriting and product changes in order to provide updates to the Commercial Team.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience working In Commercial Lines Insurance.

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

  • Self-motivated, with excellent organization and time management skills.

  • Desire to be a part of a positive working environment where teamwork is key.

  • Must possess the ability to efficiently multi-task while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Professional and friendly demeanor.

  • Continuous desire to learn and grow professionally.

  • State of Wisconsin Property and Casualty license preferred but not required.

  • Experience working with Commercial Insurance preferred but not required.
